ashes and snowASHES AND SNOW  Once upon a time…  
We seem to use these words so easily. But what do they really mean. “Once upon a time”? Sounds to me like the author just copped out or didn’t really know what they were saying. I think it means that the story the words introduce come from time out of time, from a time that is not realtime but rather something the author created for their own little world. Sure, sometimes it seems to have ties and similarities to our own world, whether in present time or times past, but faerie tales are, unfortunately, fictional (I think). So the words are a warning: leave your commonsense and love of reality behi ashes and snow

APPLEAPPLE   It all started with an apple. Well, it actually started long before we even went to the Garden, but this story begins with an apple. And ends with a kiss.

 Evangeline Hargreaves sighed and ran her hand through her short, razor cut, white-blonde hair. Of course, it just flopped right back into her face, obscuring her black-rimmed ocean grey eyes. She didn’t usually wear makeup, but she was on a date… and now they were stuck in the middle of nowhere at 9:00 at night. And it was her first real date, too. Rather sad, at the age of 17.

Getting sick.... I think I may have picked up a bug on the plane trip back from LA. But my class is doing well, so I'm pretty happy otherwise :)
